Mark Borthwick is a professional producer and artist who has worked on a series of Arts Council grants, totalling £106,515+.
He was trained by Sarah Gray, a producer from the National Theatre of Scotland. From 2020-2025 he was attached to the Young Edinburgh Storytellers, a touring company. He has a PhD in the impact of vernacular arts. Mark continues to represent a number of artists and companies in a freelance capacity, whilst also instigating new productions and co-productions under the name Articora Ltd.

Mark is passionate about helping vernacular artists, who might have low systems-literacy, in accessing Arts Council England grants, and participating in a wider artistic economy which might otherwise be closed to them. He provides mentorship in budgeting, applications, evaluation, and how to prepare for future applications. He is well-known and in good standing with all major arts organizations in Scotland and the North of England.
